Free Tutoring for Grades 3-8

Free Tutoring for Grades 3-8

Free 8-week reading tutoring program offered this summer at Burton Barr Central Library. This program is a partnership with Arizona State University's America Reads program and is open to students entering 3rd - 8th grade in the fall.  Students will receive 4 hours a week of enrichment activities and one-on-one tutoring. This program runs every Tuesday and Thursday in June and July, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

No Class July 4.

At each session, students will spend 50 minutes in a live, online tutoring session with their ASU tutor. Students will also have snack time (snacks provided) and an hour of hands-on enrichment programming in science and creative arts. While individual results depend on student effort, the America Reads program has demonstrated gains in reading levels for participants.

Students are asked to commit to the entire program (students may have up to two absences during the summer). In addition to tutoring and enrichment activities, each student will receive a free daily snack and a book bag filled with fun books to keep for summer reading enjoyment.

Registration is required.
