Dia de los Muertos @ Central Gallery
Join us for the 2023 Día de los Muertos celebration at the Burton Barr Central Library as we honor the tradition of remembering family and friends who have passed on. This year’s Día de los Muertos exhibition is a display of art and altars created by City of Phoenix Employees that explore themes related to Arizona, local history, and meaningful figures, places, or historical events that have helped shape the City of Phoenix and its community in honor of the Library's 125th anniversary. Come by to see the papel picado, nichos, and ofrendas in the Central Gallery, and visit the community altar to write messages to loved ones. Take a photo at our Dia Photo Wall in the Gallery with yourself or friends! Search for clues in a scavenger hunt that will lead to the various Día de los Muertos displays around the library. Winners collect a prize on the 5th floor!
The Día de los Muertos exhibition will be on display in the Central Gallery from October 3 through November 5, 2023.
The Central Gallery is located on the first floor of the Burton Barr Central Library. You can visit the gallery during regular business hours.
Únete a nosotros en la celebración del Día de los Muertos 2023 en la Biblioteca Central Burton Barr mientras honramos la tradición de recordar a familiares y amigos que han fallecido. La exposición del Día de los Muertos de este año es una exhibición de arte y altares creados por empleados de la Ciudad de Phoenix. Venga a ver el arte del papel picado, nichos y ofrendas en la Galería Central, y visite el altar de la comunidad para escribir mensajes a sus seres queridos. La exposición Día de los Muertos estará en exhibición en la Galería Central del 3 de octubre al 5 de noviembre de 2023.
