Summer Reading Event: La Mula's Tale and Dance
Hear the story of a lonely mule enslaved on the island of Puerto Rico, known also as Borinquen. La Mula meets a kind human, also enslaved. Together, the friends plan an escape to freedom. After the story Kawambe shares "Bomba," a traditional dance & music rooted in the island's history of African enslavement. Learn to dance Bomba, a conversation of drumming and dance!
Event takes place in the main area of the library. Seating is limited.
