Fall Health Fair
Burton Barr Central Library is hosting a Health Fair on Saturday, November 16th, from 10:00am-2:00pm that will offer a wide range of health services and health-related information to attendees. This program is hosted in partnership with several medical and health-focused community partners. See the full list of supporting partners below. This program is open to ALL AGES (as applicable) at NO COST and is accessible to uninsured, underinsured, and/or Medicare and Medicaid eligible guests.
Services available at the Health Fair:
University of Arizona College of Pharmacy will be providing screenings for Diabetes, Cholesterol, Hypertension, Osteoporosis, and Breathing Assessments. They will also have educational booths on Depression Awareness, HIV/ Aids Awareness, Sickle Cell Anemia/ Health Disaprities, Nutrition & Health, and Generation Rx/ Operation Substance Abuse with Naloxone Awareness. No insurance required. First come, first served. Ages 18+.
The Baby Shots program through the Phoenix Fire Department will be offering a wide range of Vaccines; ALL childhood vaccines (from birth to age 19) and many Adult vaccines at no-cost. This program asks that individuals bring their vaccination records, but they can still screen and vaccinate if vaccination records are not provided. Participants will then receive an up-to-date list of their current immunizations to take home. First come, first served. See the full list of vaccines being offered below. *
Bird's Eye Medical will provide no-cost Covid-19 vaccines.
Terros Health will offer FREE Rapid HIV and Hep C Testing (Same day results), STI Testing (Full Panel): Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Hepatitis-C; Nursing/Medical assistance and referrals to other services; Wound Care, Coordination for detox, and information about Terros Health programs and services. Tests are free, first come, first served.
The Arizona Department of Health Services will provided educational resources on vaccine preventable diseases, records expungement and more as well as swag items.
Keogh Health Connections will be offering enrollment assistance for AHCCCS, SNAP, KidsCare, TANF, and Marketplace. Stop by to get help with applying for health insurance solutions from a trained team. First come, first served.
The Maricopa County WIC program offers nutrition and breastfeeding education and support from the experts. WIC also provides healthy food packages and resource referrals. WIC is for families with children under age 5 including infants. WIC is also for pregnancy, breastfeeding, and those who have had a pregnancy end in the last 6 months. Dads, grandparents, and caregivers are also encouraged to apply. Stop by to learn more.
CPLC Parenting Arizona will be tabling with information about their Sensory Screening services. This includes information about and service points for conducting hearing and vision screenings for children under the age of five in Phoenix North and South Regions. Stop by the first floor auditorium to learn more. They will also be providing vision and hearing screenings for kids on-site during the fair at no cost. These will take place in the Family Resource Center, first floor in the Childrens' area.
The Nurse-Family Partnership Program will be tabling with information about their visitation programs for first-time mothers, connecting them with their own personal registered nurse. Nurses in this program can provide support, information, and resources during pregnancy until the child turns two years old. This program is available at no cost.*
Go with the Flow will provide no-cost menstrual products and education.
AIM at Melanoma Foundation will have a sun safety table, providing melanoma and skin cancer prevention information, sun safety tips, and how to detect possible melanoma. They will also give out sunscreen samples and other prizes.
Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS will host a free Condom Bar, Go with the Flow Bar (Menstrual Products), and provide PCP and other referrals.
211 Arizona (a program of Solari Crisis & Human Services) will table with information about their services. 211 Arizona operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week every day of the year. Live operator service is available around the clock in English and Spanish with assistance in hundreds of other languages available. Bilingual 211 Arizona operators will help individuals and families find resources that are available to them locally, throughout the state, and provide connections to critical services that can improve and save lives, including:
- Supplemental food and nutrition programs
- Shelter and housing options
- Utilities assistance
- Emergency information and disaster relief
- Employment and education opportunities
- Services for veterans
- Health care, vaccination, and health epidemic information
- Addiction prevention and rehabilitation programs
- Re-entry help for ex-offenders
- Support groups for individuals with mental illnesses or special needs
- A safe, confidential path out of physical and/or emotional domestic violence
American Red Cross will table with information about Blood Drives, the American Red Cross, and Blood Donor information.
De Colores, Chicanos Por La Causa will provide information about Domestic Violence and sexual assault victims shelter and community based services.
The Office of Accountability and Transparency (OAT), a City of Phoenix Office, is a Civilian oversight agency that monitors investigations of police misconduct in Phoenix. They take concerns, complaints, and commendations regarding the Phoenix Police Department. Stop by to learn more about this valuable resource for the Phoenix Community.
Southwest Human Development will be tabling with information about their programs that focus on young children, ages birth to 5, and their families. In the areas of child development, mental health, early literacy, family support, and more.

Baby Shots carry some as combination vaccines and others as individual vaccines. They are all in accordance with the CDC, so any child that hasn’t been vaccinated against childhood disease up to the age of 19 are eligible to be vaccinated by this program.
*The Nurse-Family partnership program is only available to first-time mothers that are less than 28 weeks pregnant, meet the income requirements, and live in one of the designated zip codes within Maricopa County. Stop by to learn more.
