Burton Barr Library Art and Architecture Tour - Celebrating 30 Years!
Did you know Burton Barr Central Library opened 30 years ago, in 1995? 100,000 pounds of copper went into the building construction of Burton Barr Library - that's the equivalent of 17,500,000 pennies! Join us as we celebrate the library's 30th Anniversary with an extended tour of the building to learn more incredible facts and the history of one of Phoenix's points of pride.
Explore the art works and architectural features of the Burton Barr Library. Designed by renowned architect Will Bruder, the 5-story tall library contains works of art including sculptures, paintings and fiber arts. This special walking tour will not only cover highlights of the building's art and design elements, but attendees will also learn more about the library's history and unique services and collections.
Tours are limited to 25 participants. Registration is required. Meet in @Central Gallery on the first floor.
