Summer Reading: Hawaiian Hula Dancing

Summer Reading: Hawaiian Hula Dancing

Experience the Aloha Spirit through learning about hula! We will learn where hula originates, the purpose of hula, enjoy some hula performances, learn some basic hula instruction with Hawaiian implements (ex. the kala'au sticks and uli'uli), and a simple hula song participants can perform for their families at the end. Space is limited. Program sponsored by Maricopa County Library District as part of Maricopa County Reads, the summer reading program at the library.

Don't forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Game, it's for all ages! Prizes include free books and other great giveaways. Registration begins May 1. Start logging your reading on June 1. Game ends August 1.  To sign up, click here!
