Censorship is so 1984: Banned Books Week Panel Discussion and Read-a-Thon

Celebrate your freedom to read during this year's Banned Books Week (Oct. 5th - 11th)! In collaboration with South Mountain Community College, and as part of National Banned Books Week, South Mountain Community Library will display books that have been banned or challenged.

Banned Books Panel Discussion: Tuesday, Oct. 7th from 10 am – 11 am | L162/163

Several librarians and faculty members will discuss complex and often controversial issues related to book challenges and bans, censorship, the 1st Amendment, and selection of library books.

Banned Books Read-a-Thon: Tuesday, Oct. 7th from 11 am - 12:30 pm | L162/163

Our traditional open forum where you can read a short passage from your favorite banned book. Or join us just to listen and show support.
