The Kith & Kin Program is a 12-week class that provides training and support to family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) caregivers. FFN caregivers are aunts, uncles, grandparents, siblings, friends, and neighbors that provide care to four or less children in their home. Each 2-hour class is designed to improve the quality of care provided to children and increase FFN caregivers' knowledge about early childhood. Each weekly session focuses on a specific topic and includes information sharing, discussion, skill building, and activities. Groups are held in a supportive format where participants learn from their instructor, as well as each other.

7 Core Topics: Ages & Stages: Developmental Milestones of Young Children Brain Development Daily Schedules & Arranging the Environment Language & Literacy Nutrition Parent & Caregiver Relationships Positive Guidance & Discipline.

Candelen will provide:

• On-site childcare and transportation for those participants in need
• All program and childcare materials
• Incentives and door prizes to participants of the classes
• Light refreshments for adults and children
