Ernie Barnes-Inspired Painting - Black History Month
Join us in an Ernie Barnes-inspired painting event as we celebrate the talents of former National Football League player and professional painter Ernie Barnes. Pictures of his professional work will be available to view and inspire participants to paint their own work of art on a canvas of their choice. Paintbrushes, paints of diverse colors, and canvases will be provided.
Ernie Barnes painted throughout his career in the NFL and kept his dual passion for art and athletics alive by actively doing both professionally. After retiring from his professional career in the NFL, Barnes received one of the greatest honors of his professional career when he was chosen as the official artist of the 1984 Olympic Summer Games, held in Los Angeles.
Come and celebrate Black Heritage Month with us! This event is a first come, first serve opportunity, and space is limited. All supplies for this event were purchased by the Friends of the Library.
