The Arizona Room at Burton Barr Central Library is dedicated to preserving materials and documents related to Arizona's rich history, featuring works from local writers, maps, directories, and even vinyl records. Join us for an enlightening hour as we highlight notable items from the collection such as letters from the James McClintock Collection, postcards from Phoenix's early days, yearbooks, music, photographs, newspapers, and various ephemera. 

Attendees will learn about the "Arizona Room for All" project, focused on removing physical barriers of access to the Arizona Room and creating a reading room that welcomes all. Phoenix Public Library was awarded an LSTA Grant in 2025 for the "Arizona Room For All" project. Funds were used to purchase new furniture and low vision aids such as handheld and electronic magnifiers, as well as products for tabletop book displays. Registration is required. 

This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
