Join us as we kickoff the 2026–27 NEA Big Read season with a community celebration centered on the life, poetry, and enduring legacy of one of America's most beloved poets, Emily Dickinson!

The NEA Big Read, which builds community through the shared experience of reading, discussion, and creative exploration, kicks off its 2026–27 season with a celebration of The Essential Emily Dickinson! Featuring opening remarks by Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, pop-up talks by Phoenix Poet Laureate Rosemarie Dombrowski, PhD., hands-on poetry activities, seed planting,  free books, snacks, and giveaways, this free all-ages event invites participants to discover one of America's most influential poets and connect through the power of literature, creation, and vulnerability.
