AI in Focus: The Dark Side: Environment & Health

Many people are enthralled with all that generative AI sites like ChatGPT can do. Sure, it can help with things that can make planning a vacation and meal prep a breeze. But what about the darker side of AI? How much energy does AI consume with a simple search? How might data centers that are created to power AI affect our communities and resources? How might using AI affect mental health? This program will give an overview of AI environmental ethics, health considerations, and how AI is already changing society today.

Drop in to the session topic of your choice or join us for all eight sessions of AI In Focus--Ocotillo Library & Workforce Literacy Center and South Mountain Community Library are hosting the series. Test your knowledge, engage in discussion, and grab take-home resources about how to navigate and thrive in a world where AI is around us. Tech safety tools and swag may be available in the session while supplies last.
