Día de los Muertos Celebration
Join us for the 2026 Día de los Muertos celebration at Burton Barr Central Library as we honor the tradition of remembering family and friends who have passed. This year’s Día de los Muertos exhibition is a display of nichos created by local communities. Visit the community altar to write messages to loved ones or bring a photo of a loved one to share on the community *photo wall. Papel picado, nichos, and ofrendas will all be included in this year's celebration on the 2nd floor. Search for clues in a scavenger hunt that will lead to other displays around the library. Winners collect a prize on the 5th floor!
On display from October 5 through November 5, 2026. Burton Barr Central Library, 2nd floor by Arizona Room.
*Please leave wallet-sized, 2 x 3 inch photocopies only. Photos will not be returned at the end of the event.
