Summer Reading Event: Fan Crafting for Cooling Summer Heat

Tales of African and African American fan making traditions to bring relief during hot weather African droughts and during the summer heat of 1950's and 60's freedom marches and sit-ins. Craft your own beautifully colorful handmade fan from African and African American design ideas. Materials provided.

Space is limited to 16 participants and free tickets are required and available 30 minutes before program start time. NOTE: In our meeting room we can accommodate the participating child aged 5-11 plus 1 accompanying adult only.

Don't forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Game, it's for all ages! Prizes include free books and other great giveaways. Registration begins May 1. Start logging your reading on June 1. Game ends August 1.  To sign up, click here!
