Doing Business in Phoenix: Emotional Intelligence Online

We look for technical skills in our employees, but understanding people is the key to personal and professional success. In this class, we will discuss and learn what your mindset is and what your individual motivators are. What are the things that you are passionate about, where do you get your energy? We’ll explore empathy at length and how we respond to others when they may be emotional or upset and how to cope with those behaviors.

Presenter: Marcus Johnston has been an educator for over 15 years, teaching everyone from Kindergarten to Senior Citizens. After five years teaching middle and high school overseas, he taught in hospitals across the country, teaching doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals for over a decade. After working with law schools, he joined the City of Phoenix as the eLearning Instructional Designer. In this role, he actively designs curriculum for in person and virtual training, as well as self-paced eLearning.
