Rare Book Room Tour: Napoleon Bonaparte

Rare Book Room Tour: Napoleon Bonaparte

Burton Barr Central Library stores about 3,500 rare books or items in the Rare Book Room. Join us for a tour of the room to learn about and view rare materials, such a leaf from a Gutenberg Bible, Shakespearean folios, a hand-illuminated leaf from an ancient Koran, and cuneiform tablets. The collection holds manuscripts and tablets from around the world, many held together with catgut or pigskin. Phoenix Public Library's Rare Book Room holds a large collection of materials about Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of France. Come see these rare works and learn about life of Napoleon I.
